Companions

Companions are unique characters that may be persuaded by varying means to join your party. They often have higher stats and skills than the avatars made by the player.

Companions have a set minimum level. Companions with less experience than the player character will match their experience level to the player first time they are recruited, gaining stat and skill points retroactively. These points can be distributed freely.

Some companions have quests associated with them, offering to join only after the quest is complete. Some companions are mercenaries, who will join after a payment of emeralds.
